Hi Med Emp., I did a google search and found your post about abilify and anxiety - very encouraging for me as I've given almost everything a therapeutic run, and am really looking for something to alleviate the depression/anxiety and psychosis, without causing foggyness. Q; :~ does the abilify continue to help with your anxiety, and 2: I think you may have mentioned it but do you mind if I ask if you're taking it for unipolar depression or bipolar - I'm looking at it for unipolar, +anxiety + psychosis, most of the info. I've read talks about it in bipolar depression.
3: Is the anxiety that some 24% of patients taking abilify describe, often transient?I got horrible anxiety from seroquel and I read somewhere that aripip. and seroquel were chemically similar, just here say, but if you can shed any light on that :~ , I'm wondering if there's any parallels in our conditions Thanks
Ben
- your post on abilify and anxiety -
Hey! Abilify helped considerably with my anxiety at low doses (5-7.5mgs) and continued to have an anti-anxiety effect at higher doses over an extended period of time. That said, if you're only dealing with anxiety, why not try a benzo or buspar, or something of that nature? Neuroleptics can, of course, be useful, but they carry risks that other drugs do not.
