Its ok Ed, Thats exactly what I was saying in my previous post. And in regards to benzos we seem to respond (almost) exactly the same (though Your doses would knok me out for a week lol).Types of anxiety will obviosly make all the difference. And I would imagine that particularly those with Social Anxiety/Phobia would find benzos pretty useless for 'emergency' use. When I'm feeling fearful, panicky, inadiquate in a social setting (or any setting infact), what I need is focus, confidence, a 'lifted' mood and a clear head - not something I'm gonna get from a benzo.
Of course clonazepam, and occasionally alprazolam have have been very successful with many such sufferers, but mainly with continueous treatment which inevitably comes with some degree of dependence (I didn't say abuse). Something which, for someone like myself would have to be the VERY last resort. Plus, even patients successfully treated this way (as mono-therapy) will often complain of impaired mood and such like.
And I agree, there's little wrong with an occasional evening chilling out with a benzo or 4. Beats spending all your money on booze, spewing up everywhere and waking up next to Miss/Mr "sorry to say this but I have a 'little bit' of chlamydia"!
