Would it be better to take them dispursed thoughout the day? Also it seems a few of the MAOIs have very short half-lives (2-3hrs) which is even less than Effexor. Is it because nardil is an irreversible MAOI that we don't experience withdrawal after a few hours or is the mechanism completely different?

The prescribing information from Pfizer says to take one 15mg tablet three times per day. I take between 75 and 90mg of Nardil currently and split it into two doses. I have experimented with taking the medication at different times, to try to avoid the late afternoon somnolence. I've even taken the entire dose at bedtime after titrating up to an effective dosage. It did not seem to make any difference, so I just do what is convienent for me.
I'm not sure on the medications half-life. It does alter MAO inhibition for a couple of weeks after stopping the med.Nardil® (phenelzine sulfate tablets, USP)
