Whats your dosage? If its high-ish, you can expect some problems during the conversion. Lexapro is very, very clean--it pretty much only affects serotonin. Effexor, on the other hand, goes all over the place, particularly at higher doses. So...during the switch, you *might* get withdrawal problems, which will probably be much milder b/c of the lexapro. Adding BuSpar and/or Wellbutrin to the lexapro can help prevent sexual side effects and increase the response to the AD..with BuSpar, it might also speed up response the antidepressant, which could be helpful..it also tends to reduce start-up anxiety with SSRIs, which can be a big problem for some people.
