Hi Alohashirt,
I thought that Toprol was an ACE inhibitor, not a beta-blocker. I believe that ACE inhibitors are supposed to have fewer side effects than beta-blockers. I know several hypertensive elderly people who are on several anti-hypertensive drugs, each from a different class.
