hey! antipsychotics have long been used in OCD, usually in "treatment-refractory" cases. Also, some cases of OCD have "psychotic elements" that call for treatment with a neuroleptic. From what I've seen, it *can* work pretty well--the important thing is to watch the dosage to avoid getting movement disorders and what not. A friend of mine did an Anafranil+zyprexa combo...I forget the anafranil dosage, but the zyprexa started at 2.5 and I think she ended up taking 5mgs/day, with pretty good results and minimal weight gain/sedation. You might be better served trying something like Abilify, which is more activating and has less of a risk of weight gain and metabolic problems (increased blood sugar, that kind of thing). Good lucK!
