I'm in my 50s. I have friends who are in their 40s, 50s and 60s who also try to take control of their treatment. I started doing my own research 10 years before I even heard of the Internet. But because this information didn't fit her thesis, she ignored it. She even told me she'd spoken to several other people who were in their 40s and 50s. But all of us got left out because it disrupted her premise. Rather than adjust her premise, she preferred to adjust reality. It doesn't necessarily negate much of what she said, but I do find it rather insulting.
