I don't think theres much danger from combining an MAOI with caffiene, although its 'officially' contradicted.
I'm on 60mgs of Marplan and have drunk a lot of coffee without incident.
If some one were taking and MAOI and their blood pressure was already very high then I suppose there might be a problem with Caffiene.
Its worth remembering that MAOIs can be combined with more powerful stimulants like Dexedrine, this link has a few examples.
