Yes, but doctors are keen to prescribe the cheapest meds because they want to stay within their drugs budgets - which they rarely do.

Two options:
1. You had an 'exemption' eg. over 60 yrs and therefore pay nothing.
2. You pay £6.50 per item. A drug worth £300 per box will cost you £6.50. A drug worth 20p per box will cost you £6.50.

PS. I welcome the introduction of generic sertraline. Lustral, the brand, was just too expensive. I don't like to waste resources, even if I'm not paying.
