Hello all, its been a really long time since I've posted. I recently moved and started a new job and things have been okay for the most part.
I have Social Phobia / Generalized Anxiety/ and a case of depression that I just can't ever seem to shake for more than a month at a time (those are great months).
I have used Keppra for a long time and have found it to be one of the most effective medications out there for me (and I've tried nearly everyting from SSRIs to benzos to MAOIs to trcyclics to etc...).
I recently had a pretty bad depressive episode that only benzos could snap me out of (they tend to have a depressive effect on me when I take them long term but nothing snaps me out of a funk like Klonopin). My Pdoc suggested I try lamictal given my trials of most every other medication but also thought Serzone might be an option. The lamictal has had some mild results but I'm still not feeling well.
Amy experience with Serzone for the "treatment resistant" bunch out there? I know all about the risks and consider them acceptable if it works.
I have typically been a much better responder to anti-anxiety / mood stabalizer type meds than SSRIs and MAOIs.
I also read that it is related to trazadone which I took for sleep in the past. I found it helped me sleep (a little too well and long) but no effects on the depression. Are they that similar?
Any thoughts? I am also considering asking about Lyrica as Gabapentin partially worked.
