I think it can happen...if you read placebo-controlled studies, you'll see that lots of patients report problems usually associated with the class of drug they're in the study for (ex: antipsychotic studies show pretty high rates of akathisia and drowsiness for placebo). But...that doesn't mean your problems are placebo-based; you're taking real drugs, and real drugs cause real problems. Really. When in doubt with these things, I think its best to err on the side of caution so..if you're having serious problems with meds, just assume that its the MEDICATION--not your mind--causing the problem. Yes, it may drive your shrink crazy, but better cause a bit of trouble for the doc than go through hell on the off-chance it may "just be in your head".
