Hi- It's great that you no longer have depression or anxiety. I know from reading lots of posts over the years that Effexor is an excellent medication for those 2 symptoms.
My feeling is that if it's not broke, don't fix it. So since you are feeling ok, I think that you should stay on your current medications at the current dose.
Be cautious about making changes because there are lots of people who have long term and non-situational (or endogenous) anxiety and depression who get a lot of improvement with medications; then stop when they feel better; then go back to feel bad the way they did before medications.
> i have been on effexor since it first came out and may not even need anymore but i just wont go off do to sides. anyway neurontin is ok but it poops out.
> More actually gets into your system on lower doses i've heard. Most people like the initial buzz it gives then complain when it doesnt do that anymore and blame a poop out. i went up to 4800 mg a day and never had any sides at all and never felt the buzzy sleepy feeling i desired. I no longer have depression or anxiety so whatever worked . the problem with meds is is that they make you feel ok but since most people here do not no what normal is they want to jump to different meds everytime they dont feel the way they think they should. i got addicted to meds that way. i had emotional issues and drs gave me evertything from valium to dexedrine and of course i felt great on those drugs because i was getting high. as soon as i got tolerant they uped the dose. once you get addicted your symptoms magnify and now you have double the issues
