I've been on Lamictal 200mg for two or three weeks now, and things is bad as bad can be. Today, I lay down for my required nap at about 1:30 -- and woke up when my husband got home at 6! You can imagine how much I got done today, right?
And I'll sleep like a baby tonight, too. (No, I don't mean waking up every two hours and crying.)
Anyway, I'm ready to chuck all the meds, and start over. Well, I'm ready to chuck half the meds, the other half I think might be worth continuing to see if they'll help on their own. At this point, I think I might have to lower my expectations and settle for anything that helps, instead of looking for full remission.
I'm currently taking:
Cymbalta 60mg
Wellbutrin XL 300mg
Lamictal 200mg
Provigil 100mg.Raising the Provigil doesn't help, and may make things worse, although I think I may try to add 50 at lunch, too.
All that, and I'm still depressed -- more depressed since starting the Lamictal. Total and complete anhedonia, and almost unable to do ANYTHING. And Dr CattleProd said something about 'if it doesn't work at 200mg, we can go up a lot more.' I don't want to go up more! I feel so much worse than before I started it, why on earth would I want to take more of it?
At this point, I'm thinking of calling and telling him I want to drop both the Lamictal and the Cymbalta. Maybe just the two energizing drugs would help?
Here's a question, though: I've never really read that anyone has had luck with Wellbutrin for mono-therapy. It seems to be used primarily as an augmenting agent. Has anyone experienced good results from it as the sole antidepressant rather than an adjunct?
Thanks.
