effexor xr

i have been on effexor xr for 2 days, and so far so good, although i feel jittery and have no appetite. I am on this for depression, but mostly for social anxiety, which i have pretty bad. this is my 4th medication (paxil,wellbutrin,zoloft) and none have been right for me. does this help with the social anxiety, and is the withdrawl as bad as everyone says?
