Hi,
> You might want to read "Tuning the Brain" by retired Dr. Jay A. Goldstein. He believes that chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia (as well as many of the other waste basket disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, benign nonbacterial prostatitis, vulvadinia, etc.) are all brain based. He refers to them as neurosomatic illnesses that are a result of one or a combination of low brain DA/NE, oversensitized NMDA receptors and/or a hyperglutamatergic state. He used a whole host of medications, including all of those that you mentioned, to treat his patients. I'm not saying he had all the answers, but I'm almost certain he would have been able to correctly "tune" my brain had I gotten a chance to see him. I've been trying to find a doctor with one tenth of his knowledge and haven't even come close...
The guy has done some pretty amazing work. I don't know if his treatment algorithms actually work, but they are quite brilliant on paper.
