Early morning waking in atypical depression

Posted by FredPotter on September 22, 2005, at 17:01:17

I have atypical depression. In respect of sleep this means sleeping a lot rather than insomnia. But since changing from Celexa to Paxil I've started waking at 4 or 5 am, not in a disturbed state, but feeling more serene than at any other time during the day.

Does anyone know how the serum concentrations work? Does the Celexa concentration come down faster than the Paxil concentration goes up? This would account for the emergence of a typical depression symptom in an otherwise typically atypical depressive patient. God it gets complicated
