hey! About the increased appetite...apparently, there's been some success with using Meridia as an add-on (I think at the beginning of Zyprexa therapy). Patients either didnt gain weight or were able to lose weight and the neuroleptic potency wasn't adversely affected. Using an older med, like phentermine or phendimetrazine, might be helpful as well. If she doesn't stick with zyprexa, risperdal or geodon might be good, since they cause weight gain less often than zyprexa (geodon doesn't really cause weight gain all that often in general). If she's using an atypical for agitation and what not, you might want to add hydroxyzine or something if you opt for a less sedating medication, though it may not be necessary. Good luck!
