In reply to UK Mental health care 'suffers gaps' ...., posted by Meri-Tuuli on September 12, 2005, at 6:18:35
Hey Meri and Ed
Where did they dig up these satified people from?!
'nine in 10 trusted their psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse.'
This is depressing news : (I suppose these people blindly trust their doctors, and are greatful for any help they recieve.
If you don't know things could be better you won't complain!I have to say my experience of UK mental health care beyond the GP level has been bad.
There are a few good psychiatrists out there, but they are few and far between. To put things in perspective there was a UK guy who used to post here,I think his name was McPac.
He'd travelled around the world to get treatment so he had some perspective.
He said (if I remember correctly) "UK Pdocs are the worst in the world"!Another quote on UK Pdocs, "Their arrogance is only matched by their ignorance"!
Sorry to be so negative, these qotes probably are excessive, still I think their room for improvement in the UK system.
