In reply to Paxil - suicide attempts - new study, posted by ed_uk on September 10, 2005, at 14:20:30
It's about time they start taking it seriously.
I wasn't on Paxil, but I was never suicidal in my whole life until being on Lexapro for 3 weeks.
I will never forget the "logic" in my thoughts about how I should just go and hang myself. It was so bizarre, as if I had no control over those thoughts (it was constant!).
If not for thinking of the consequances of killing myself on my husband and 2 son's, I likely would have done it.
That medicine made me feel like I was on the worst acid trip of my life-- so much so that ending my life seemed like the only way out of the nightmare.
It took me several months to feel like myself again.
