I have been prescribed Effexor

What should I expect ? My past meds have been Zoloft, Celexa, Paxil CR, and another that started with an N . Sorry don't remember what it was. Anyways I am in group therapy at the moment due to an overdose. I have been diagnosed as a manic depressive with a social anxiety disorder as well as Generalized Anxiety Disorder . Which I think go hand in hand. So what I am asking is has anyone with similar afflictions had success with Effexor ? Also what can I expect from taking this medication ? Any and all answers are much appreciated.
