If cut them in half before and chewed half. The only thing is they get stuck in your teeth! They are a little waxy, I guess this is what causes the XR release. So, the bitterness that lingers is the only negative thing I found. And yes, when I chewed half it was just like taking a regular Xanax, it hit like a train. I also took a half that had been cut for a couple of months and it was fine.
