I think it is here that the drug produces its short-lived mood-brightening effects. Lamictal seems to like to work in combination with other drugs, although I would not yet be able to characterize them. Perhaps NMDA antagonists would be helpful in extending the therapeutic effects of Lamictal. Memantine and dextromethorphan come to mind. Of course, dextromethorphan cannot be combined with an MAOI.
