hi! I think its a cool idea...Ativan really would be ideal, since its relatively easy to start and stop treatment as needed, and it is neither super-fast acting nor is it an all day sedative. There were some other upper/downer combos, too...Desbutol was one that I believed had dex with phenobarbital; primarily for weight control, but of course...psychiatrists like it, too. Eskatrol was a popular one, too...its the one Edie Sedgwick abused alot. There was even a resperine (old school antipsychotic...rarely used today) and phenobarbital combo pill...I guess it was for *extreme* anxiety. The only problem with an upper/downer combo would be that some docs and the DEA would whine and moan about "abuse potential" because it would offer quick symptom relief (even *without* drug induced euphoria, quick relief of symptoms would be enough to make the anti-drugs people scream). It seems that alot of people, including some docs, don't think proper treatment can involved feeling good or euphoric at all, at any time...I guess mental health "treatment" is supposed to be a long, painful, decidedly un-pleasant affair? *sigh* Anyway, your combo sounds cool...I really like propranolol w/ stimulant+sedative, so maybe 20-40mgs propranolol would be cool as an additional add-on.
