I honestly cant think of anyway to get Zyprexa out of your system faster...avoid caffeine (raises the blood-level of antipsychotics...also, some other medications (notably the SSRIs, tricyclics) will also raise the blood levels of many antipsychotics when they are co-administered. Some medications (trileptal, tegretol, I think phenobarbital) will lower the level of zyprexa and just about anything else in your system because of their effects on liver enzymes. Cigarette smoking reduces the level of most antipsychotics (I think all of them except for abilify) in your system, and will also reduce blood levels of tricyclics. If you've decided to stop taking zyprexa, then you might just want to call a doc and get the high blood sugar itself taken care of while you wait for the zyprexa to clear of your system. You may need to continue treatment for the high blood-sugar for a little while, because in some cases people continue to have problems for a while after the zyprexa has been completely withdrawn and a "washout" has been completed (in very rare cases, Zyprexa has contributed to Type II diabetes that remained a problem even *after* the drug the had been withdrawn for a while--but, these were people taking it long-term, so this doesn't really apply to you). I'm sorry about the side-effects you've experienced...fortunately, they will go away a while after the zyprexa is withdrawn. Good luck, and please keep us all posted.
