I started taking Wellbutrin 150mg in April and I was doing better immediately but, then I had a lot of problems sleeping. So my doc added 75mg of Effexor and the first week when I was "building up" on the 37.5mg I felt so wonderful my life was going great and I had the energy to really get back into life. The stress in my life for the past 2 years was overwhelming and I really fought going on any meds at all. I too thought I should do this on my own by eating better and exercising but, I just couldn't seem to do it alone. Anyway, when I went to 75mg of Effexor I had terrible stomach pains and lost time at work because I would feel so out of it when I was in that pain. I complained to my doc several times and kept suggesting the higher dosage of Effexor as the culprit but, she wouldn't hear of it. So finally, I demanded to ween off the Effexor and at 37.5mg again I felt amazing and had that wonderful feeling of being the best part of me. So some of us may benefit from a higher dosage but, for me my body prefers 150mg Wellbutrin and 37.5mg Effexor. So listen to your body and trust yourself. I also have been experienceing the jaw tension and was so pleased to see it as a side effect and not another problem brewing. When my doc denied my pains as side effects I really worried there was a much bigger problem and that added to my anxiety. Understanding the side effects just as important to my success with the meds. Thank you for your sharing.
