> hey! Don't worry about the dosage...for some reason, the PDR treats Desoxyn, Dexedrine, Adderall, and Ritalin as if they're the same drug in terms of dosing. 80mgs of Ritalin is roughly equivalent to 60mgs of Adderall, which is upper-level dosing for ADHD...but sometime people go higher (I have an ADHD/depressed friend on 80mgs/Adderall a day). So..as long as the side-effects aren't bad, don't worry about it. IF you can, I guess my suggestion would be to do a slow taper, take a full or parial break, and then titrate back up to whatever dose you're RX'd. Thats what I did with Adderall..the tapering reduces the amphetamine-withdrawal problems, and the titration sometimes let me take a little less than RX'd and then work up to full-dose. Other than that...you could switch, I suppose. Like I said, 80mgs Ritalin is (roughly) equivalent to 60mgs Adderall and about the same amount of Dexedrine. I switched from Ritalin to Adderall b/c the forms of Ritalin I was RX'd (Focalin, Ritalin LA) were way expensive on my insurance, and the Adderall XR+ generic Adderall tab combo was less than 1/2 the cost. Good luck!
Thanks,
I thought Dexedrine was used at half the dose of Rit, hence the 5mg Dex tabs and 10mg Rit tabs.
