I hope you enjoy taking courses.
I'm not sure if this is the forum for taking
stats on posters' progress. I guess Dr. Hsiung
will let us know.Lithium brought me out of the abyss. That
fluky pharmaceutical accident (weak or
counterfeit or expired lithium) through
serendipity, proved that i am bipolar and treatable by lithium. It was just like the symptoms I had 20 yrs.
ago, before being put on lithium. The crash
came suddenly after an insidious 5- mo. period of
hypomania and sudden psychotic depression
near the end of the 5th month.
(mixed states) i think. I was lifted from
indescribable darkness by the changed lithium brand (stronger one i used to take for
years) in 24 hours or so. Within that period,
death seemed a merciful escape.I recognize the sagacity and great care that
the two doctors who examined me, and the one
who has been my dr. for about 20 years, took.
That was about 22 years ago.
I am very grateful to them, and I rather wish my
significant others were too, if they could
only understand. But clinical depression and manic-depression are
very difficult to imagine in the layman
population -- you may as well try to describe
a psychedelic trip.To quote Dr. H, who was one of the doctors
who first saw me, "drugs are the answer". :-)Squiggles
