In reply to Sleep and Music as indicators of Mood? Help Please, posted by Smith562 on July 27, 2005, at 8:16:41
Hi!
I don't have a diagnosis of bi-polar, but i do have major depression periodicly, and on-going dysthymia, [minor depression] and sleep is a total indicator of my mood state. the less i sleep, or the earlier i awaken, [4 am at times] the more depressed i am. more sleep indicates less depression for me. as far as music, if i am listening to hard rock/metal, i am in a much better mood, and way more active. when i go back to nirvana, i know i am feeling low, [honestly!]
one other great indicator of mood for me is if i had a great laugh that day. if i start off laughing at a good joke, or radio show, [howard stern usually] i know it will be a good day!!
good luck....john
