hi Cherylann,
post as much as you need to! I'm so glad to hear that the Celexa is helping a bit - hopefully it will start to stabilize you ALL the time in just a few weeks. Don't worry, it will happen! :)For me, my Dr. prescribed Xanax (to be taken 1-2x/day or as needed) to help me get over the "hump" until the Lexapro started kicking in. I needed it, because it took the med a few weeks to work for me, and I still suffered HUGE anxiety until it really settled into a rhythm in my body.
Do you have something like that which might help? would your Dr. give it to you? I was really excited that I only needed it until the Lex kicked in. I took the Xanax for about 1-2 weeks, until suddenly I started feeling "OK" and knew I didn't need the Xanax anymore. But having it for a while really helped my anxiety.
For me, I always ask my Dr. for something to help me fly, because that makes me very anxious, too! So she prescribes me a very small amount of Xanax or smiliar, like 4-5 pills for a 2-flight trip. That way I know I have something to help me if I get super-anxious on the flite. Often I don't even take them. Just knowing I HAVE them "just in case" is good enough to help me calm down.
Anyway, I'm not a fan of taking benzo's long term. BUT -- they've worked for me greatly in short-term use.
good luck to you, and to your daughter in her competitions/events!
