Here is the way I see it. SSRI's activate the 5-ht2a/c receptors which shut off the frontal cortex.

They left me feeling that I had totally "pulled out" of the situation kind of like "If I just have an idea of whats going on, I don't need to worry about details"

But because I could never sit down and go through things step by step, I never saw all the details
and I would suffer on tests.

Its like I needed to obsess, in order to completely understand something.

So the remeron helped this. By blocking 2a/c recepors and alpha-2's, you get a lot more catecholamine activity in the frontal cortex.

Sometimes it made me a little panicky, but I found that executive function was definately improved.
