Melatonin definitely helped me get to sleep and I usually only need about 1 mg. or 1.5 mg. It didn't tend to keep me asleep through the night though. I tried a 1 mg. sustained release dosage and that did keep me asleep all night. The problem there was that i was too groggy in the morning.
There are others who have posted here who have had a lot of success with it so i definitely wouldn't rule it out without trying it.
