WOW SCOTT!!!!!
You sure have tried a fair few medications to say the least!
I admire your perseverance greatly.

Denise,
I was curious about a possible Bipolar connection too...It could well be anti depressant medication is not the answer your looking for ~ and they could be possibly making you worse.
You've tried lithium...how was you on that? (I am persoanlly not a fan of lithium I hated it with a passion but am bipolar...Interestly my mother who is bipolar has been taking lithium for almost 20 years and responds excellent to it)
Lamotrigine
Sodium Valproate
Carbamazpine
^^^ are further areas to try
And also your maybe pleased to know that I have been prescribed the following under my NHS psychiatirst
Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal)
Gabapentin (Neurontin)
Topiramate (Topamax)
Out of all of these I firstly responded best to carbamazepine (Tegretol)....and then even better to oxcarbazepine (Trieltpal) Unfortuanetly I got some weird rare side effect of kidney pains and so had to stop.
But reading that these 2 medications mainly working on the Temporal Lobe areas of the brain, I also found out that Topiramate does most of its work there 2....and guess what, i've only been taking it a couple of weeks but I seem to be getting "as good as" response to this as I was the other 2 previous meds.
I'm taking Neurontin too but am finding this works soley for anxiety.
I persoanlly did not like sodium Valproate or lamotrigine.
All in all thats 6 further medications you havent tried yet though...
If its of any help..it took me 5 years to get a diagnosis of bipolar (I hear the average is 8 years) Im now 22, but first had problems at 17 and wasted years trying anti depressants only to end up being alright for 6 months at a time. My highs are extreamly mild and therefore bipolar was a pretty difficult to diagnosis to get as it looked so much like unipolar depression..
Perhaps your not bipolar...but perhaps the mood stabilisers to treat it will help..I would suggest at least trying them as a next step. And if none of them worked you have quite afew new anti psychotics to try.
If all those fail then your more or less close to the last resort for ECT...
Kind regards
Nick
