I'm just curious as to which drug (Lexapro or Celexa) the majority of you find to be "best" in terms of mood-improvement, presence of side-effects, etc. I was on Celexa for about 4 years. I started out at 20 mg. and gradually increased to 40 mg. over time. I noticed that one dose would work for a period of time and then I'd start to feel like I needed more of the medication. 40 mg. was great for about a year, despite frequent sleepiness/lethargy and some weight gain. But eventually, it just seemed to "poop-out", as the saying goes. At that point, my p-doc decided to have me try Cymbalta. I took that for about 3 months, but wasn't able to deal with the IRRITABILITY I felt on it. So then I took an anti-depressant break for about a month and just recently started Lexapro (which I mentioned in an above post). But anyway, just curious about any comparisons that you can draw between Celexa and Lexapro. I can't say for sure yet that I like one better than the other...I feel a bit more coherent on Lex, but I also feel kind of sick (nauseous, etc.). And I also find that I have difficulty drinking any alcohol without getting super drunk and very ill. AND I've got insomnia. Oh well...maybe all of this will pass.
