Its not an antidepressant per say. Its an atypical antipsychotic. That being said, it is often used with antidepressant as an augmenting agent. It also has the benefit of taking care of sleep disturbances. Just after you take them, antipsychotics are extremely sedating and thus you have non problem falling assleep.
