Experiences on low doses of Xanax?

I'm on only .25 mg, and it knocks me out for two hours! Is this normal? I have little ones, can't be knocked out. AND, I don't want to be sleepy, I'm on the go, and have to be. Anything not sedating for anxiety that I can take with Adderall?
