Weaning off meds--which and when a good time?

Posted by Mandy on June 15, 2005, at 10:18:20

I started out on prozac for depressionin 1991, but when that "pooped out" I started the "glorious" rounds of meds and diagnoses. NOw every seems to think I am Bipolar I. I have been on Wellbutrin SR, Lexapor, Remeron, Klonopin,Lamictal,Seroquel, and now Lunesta.
I have not had a major depression or even a miny mania for over two years. So my question is could Inow get along without some of these meds? I have already stopped (with doc approval) the Remeron and Seroquel. I think the anti-depressants are why I never sleep well. Has anyone heard of a person just being on Lamictal for mood management and saving the other stuff for a crisis, and if so can they stop all at once or is there a rebound? I would appreciate any info because my doc comes back from China in JUly and I want as much as info as possible to present my case. Thanks
