Can Remeron cause diabetes? More questions

Posted by jay on June 14, 2005, at 11:37:14

Hi folks...

Well, I am having a terrible time with the atypical antipsychotics and blood sugar levels. Both my doctor tests and home testing reveal high blood sugar levels when I am on a atypical antipsychotic. (The two I really use...Zyprexa and Seroquel.) So, I want to know if Remeron is likely to cause high blood sugar levels? What I need these for are getting and staying asleep. Seroquel works SO amazing...I pop a 100mg tab at bedtime and within a half/hour, I am right out for my usual 8 hours of sleep. But I am overweight at 35 years old, and diabetes runs in my family, so I am a PRIME target. Oddly enough, it was the above mentioned antipsychotics that caused some of my biggest weight gain.

Any help is appreciated..

Thanx, Jay
