I'm not taking sleep meds, but I used to smoke a lot of pot (as you indicate you do in a previous post). My suggestion, try cutting the pot out for a while. This may help both your sleep and depression.
If you find it difficult to stop smoking pot and really want to stop. Try finding a local Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous group. You might be suprised what 12-step programs have to offer for those suffering from depression.
