In reply to new to Parnate - can't wake up, posted by laurenjb on June 5, 2005, at 23:19:39
Hello, Lauren.
I was on Parnate for about five years. I had the opposite effect; I couldn't sleep well. I would doze off for about three hours and wake up with a tremendous amount of energy. It was a very odd experience.
It took a few weeks before the Parnate began working for me. I had problems with fatigue in the morning, but I don't think it was because of this medication. I've had trouble sleeping for many years.
Stick to the dietary restrictions and monitor your bloodpressure. I had problems with my legs/knees losing their strength from time to time, but that was at higher doses than what you are currently on.
The anxiety/depression was lessened somewhat and I had more energy. It was like a sedating and stimulating sensation.
I think you should give it more time.
(Oh, don't be concerned about my username. I don't think the medication caused any damage to my brain. Sorry if might have gotten that impression. )
Good luck, Lauren. I hope the medication helps you.
