Trying a new drug psychological phenomenom

Hi,
Does anyone experience this:
1. Get excited and hopeful at the thought of trying a new drug
2. When about to take the first pill, feelings of nervousness that it may not work set it
3. when it doesnt work right away, feelings of hopelessness
4. Back to step 1
I always experience this
