No my shrink gave me .5 mgs of K then switched to 20 mgs of Librium. He said he would not precribe either one over 6 weeks under any circumstances. Wish I had gone to him first! I`d still have my life. But at this stage of the game, all he did was re-ignite the dependency and give me Paxil, which set my mouth on fire. My 4th SSRI failure. It all seems to switch from day to day. Some days I just feel ill. Others, a bit of dr, others burning skin, others breathlessness. The minimal govt subsidized healthcare here is hardly responsive. They just want to yank the benzo, send you on a bad acid trip and toss in an SSRI. Even if one goes to a hospital and threatens suicide they just dope them up with Librium or an anti-histamine, refuse benzos and eject them in 72 hours telling them to "go to your family doctor." i have lost all of my patriotism in this ordeal. It is this supposed "best healthcare system" in the world that has disabled me, prescribing drugs with only half the side effects listed and no warning about long term withdrawal syndromes. Plus we are inventing all these pills. All while denying 82% of disability claims first try and making you hire a lawyer to fight it for a year. Success rates are much higher then but not eveyone has the resources to wait a year. Is easy to get food stamps though. So you can live in your car or the woods, eat vienna sauages and crakcers and wig out from benzo withdrawals. Yea, that`s a life... Thanks for reading the rant for those that did. Am afraid it is all true.
