In reply to long half-life benzos for bipolar disorder?, posted by sdb on May 20, 2005, at 5:00:56
Hi.Luckily I am up early today. :-)
I was DX'd bipolar and used the Klonopin as a mood stabilser since it was the only one that worked and that I could tolerate. Now I have Trileptal. That is why I am on 4 mg of Klonopin which is high. But yes, I like it and and it does help. But now with more mood stabilisers available I would probably try one of them first or combine with a small amount of a benzo. The only reason is because the benzo is hard to get off if you decide to do it. But Klonopin is used the most for bipolar out of all the benzos.
