Hi Maxine,

I guess I find the Trileptal helps depression as it doesn't make it any worse like the other mood stabilsers do.

I think maybe it does have anti-depressant properites, as carbamazepine and oxcarbazepine are chemically related to the Tricyclic anti-depressants eg amitriptyline.

The anti-manic effect is definately more stronger though than any anti-depressants quality, which is a good thing for bipolar i guess lol

Good to hear your getting along with trileptal too : )
