If Klonopin does affect 5-HT function, how come Xanax (which positively has an effect on 5-HT) tends to alleviate depression? Klonopin causes it in some people, right? I'm confused about how the two affect the neurotransmitter, but I guess that COULD be responsible. In my opinion, the extent to which these benzos affect it is negligible. Otherwise, my pdoc would not allow me to take Xanax with an MAOI. He'd prefer I didn't take it but for other reasons...
