Hey everyone, it's my first time posting.
When I was younger(15-16) I decided to get help for my SEVERE ADD after failing many classes. I was prescribed Adderall and it worked perfectly, like a miracle.
When on Adderall, I felt my veins constrict and my heart pound harder. I read stories about people having heart attacks from long term use of ADD stimulants. I decided to stop taking Adderall. I barely got by in high school.
Now in my first year of college, I decided to get ADD help again. I thought Adderall would save me, but it didn't.
- Adderall gave me anxiety and helped barely with concentration. Adderall made me feel very confused with the anxiety. Just didn't work well at all, too weak. I tried many different doses of adderall.
- Focalin (d-methylphenidate) made me feel depressed and didn't help with concentration.
- Wellbutrin was too mild of a drug even at high doses.
- Strattera gave me hell. So many terrible side effects.
- Provigil did nothing...
-----------------------
I'm now aiming at Desoxyn and Dexedrine. I asked my doc about Desoxyn once and he just told me that it's not prescribed much and then changed the subject quickly.
My doctor is not a stimulant guy. He wants me to go on antidepressants. Only stimulants help with my ADD.
I heard that Desoxyn barely increases the heart rate, is smooth and stronger than adderall without anxiety.
I need your advice, which do you think is better for concentration, Desoxyn or Dexedrine?
