Actually, it's the reverse. Each successive session of ECT Highers your seizure threshold. So in theory, the end effect of ECT is a temporarily or semi-permanently highered seizure thershold.

It's possible that the effect of ECT, is actually not stimulation of the brain or even the actual seizure itself, but rather, the end result of a higher seizure threshold.

It also bears note that the reason for needed continual ECT session is to keep the brain from returning to it's previous seizure threshold limit.
