I am actually starting to think that for many people, SSRIs are NOCEBOs for anxiety. That is, not only do they not have any benefit, they make it worse, then the doctor ups the dose when the patient complains of additional anxiety. It's some sort of [pe]rever[t]se[d] conditioning. It's sick stuff. Leave it to the US to turn some of the safest drugs known to man--the benzodiazepines--into demons.
