OCDers who use neuroleptics (like Seroquel)

Posted by chess on May 1, 2005, at 17:30:55

hey fellow OCDers
me again
my psy doc offered low dose of a neuroleptic (Seroquel, Zyprexa, Risperdal) for my anxiety instead of Xanax (which I stopped and am trying to stay off of)
I've read that in regards to OCD a neuroleptic like Seroquel must be taken with an SSRI or the neuroleptic might make the OCD worse.
Does anyone know if this is correct?
Has anyone taken a neuroleptic alone (without an SSRI)? What happened? Did it work for your anxiety? Did it make your anxiety worse? Did it make your OCD worse?
Thanks!
