Matt, the meds you've mentioned are all working on your psychological anxiety symtoms, which may be the problem. Some of us -- meaning I'm one of them -- don't have a big problem with psychic anxiety, but suffer mightily with somatic anxiety -- the physical side of it all, with all the tight muscles, racing heart, etc. When it hits me, I usually react to it, but I'm learning to stop and think about it and try to work out what set me off. It's not always possible, but it does help to think about why I might be reacting this way.
Anyway, the point of all this being that if you react physically before getting any psychic symptoms, you might find something like a beta blocker to be useful. These meds stop the physical symptoms, but you're on your own with the psychic symptoms. That might help you.
At any rate, I hope things go well with your doctor. You might ask about the beta blockers or calcium channel blockers.
Good luck.
