Just to let you know, I've read that Valerian should not be used to treat acute insomnia...wish I could remember where I read that. In other words, you need to be taking it for a couple of weeks before you get the full benefits. It should help you get to sleep once you reach that point, it mildly binds to GABA receptors in the brain and we all know GABA is heavily responsible for sleep.
